A devoted mom of two that has many stories to tell!

Steena Hernandez currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with her family.  She is a devoted mom of two, and thanks to them, she has many stories to tell!

Her educational background includes a TEA teacher certification to teach theatre arts (K-12).  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University.  There she performed in many shows, including The Threepenny Opera, Hair, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. After college, she was fortunate to tour and perform with The Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a vocalist.

She also performed in RENT at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in New York as Mimi. She toured with the USO and was honored to lift the morale of so many of our men and women who have served in our armed forces. She appeared in many television shows and skits such as Colbert Report, SNL, and All My Children.

Whether acting out “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons” for local library kids, or co-directing a show for The Montessori School of San Antonio, Steena has been on a path of storytelling from the start.

As a performer, she is a storyteller at heart, and continues to draw from past experiences to shape her writing. These endeavors have not only helped her understand the importance of dedication and hard work, but also the importance of team work to accomplish goals. She is an active member of SCBWI, as well as San Antonio Writers’ Guild.
