Get to Know Me

I'm a devoted mom of two, with many stories to tell!

I'm Steena Hernandez, and I currently live in San Antonio, Texas with my family.  I'm a devoted mom of two, and thanks to them, I have many stories to tell!

My educational background includes a TEA teacher certification to teach theatre arts (K-12).  I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University.  There I performed in many shows, including The Threepenny Opera, Hair, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. After college, I toured with the The Trans-Siberian Orchestra as a vocalist, and performed RENT at the Westchester Broadway Theatre as Mimi.

Whether acting out “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons” for local library kids, or co-directing a show for The Montessori School of San Antonio, I've been on a path of storytelling from the start.

As a performer, I am a storyteller at heart, and I continue to draw from past experiences to shape my writing.   I'm an active member of SCBWI, as well as San Antonio Writers’ Guild.
